A Versatile Artiste with a Cultural Touch

Susan Augustt is an abundantly gifted singer-songwriter who moves seamlessly between genres and styles. Based in Accra ,Ghana , Susan Augustt is a neo-afro soul ,global fusion powerhouse whose raw, emotive vocals seamlessly bridge the intimacy of jazz and funk with the infectious energy of her Ga-Ewe and Ashanti roots. A professional performer for over a decade, she does not just sing: she preserves heritage, weaving English with Twi & Ga to tell stories that resonate across borders. Susan is a defining figure in Ghana’s alternative scene and the founder of the “Augustt in August” concert series. A true DIY Force of nature , she successfully self-managed two tours across Germany , proving her business acumen matches her vocal prowess.

Born of Ga-Ewe descent and having spent her early years in Obuasi, a suburb of the Ashanti Region in Ghana, she believes these multicultural experiences have contributed to her versatility in music. In addition to English, she sings in two local languages, Twi and Ga. Susan studied Psychology at the University of Ghana, where she elevated her musical journey by becoming a part-time lounge singer, performing at hotels, lounges, and private events. Susan began her career as a recording artist in 2019 and recorded her first EP, the Effects EP, a trio of songs as her introduction to her audience.

One thing is certain: Susan is a live music artist who embraces every chance to light up a stage with her performance. In collaboration with her manager and artist development coach, she assembled one of the best young, talented music bands, ADORKOR, to continue her dream. Their album, Adorkor Volume 1, showcases the versatility of her 10-piece band. Susan Augustt is revitalizing the live music scene in her region and expresses herself best on stage.

An Ode to Strong Women and Social Impact

One standout track from her EP is “Obaa,” an ode to all hardworking women who break boundaries to achieve their dreams.

Together with her music partner Hannah Standiford, she launched a workshop program called 'Own That Stage,' designed to create a space for young artists, especially women, to develop their voice and confidence through staged performance in music, whether as singers or instrumentalists. Participants will learn the skills necessary to create engaging performances and connect with their audiences. Susan Augustt is undoubtedly a talented performer, having graced various festivals, concerts, and events, including Afrofest Toronto, Ahaban Charity Festival, the Library of Africa and the African Diaspora, Sofar Sounds Accra, Pop Kulture Festival Berlin, and the Alliance Française Jazz & World Music Festival.
